About Algorfa

• The origins of the borough of Algorfa date back to the year 1328 the monarch Alfonso ll who granted a privilege to the Valencian people. This involved allocating the smaller district to rural estate owners in order for them to construct at least 15 homes on the ground for a number of families to be housed there.

• The Algorfa municipal coat of arms features the cross of Saint James and the silver castle of the first family who were the first Lords and Marquises of the Algorfa land.

• Algorfa is situated in the south of the province of Alicante, you will find Algorfa right in the heart of the Vega Baja with 5 neighbouring boroughs which are Almoradi, Rojales, Los Montesinos, Benejuzar and Orihuela.
